The Obelisk Burrow-Nit is a gigantic burrow-nit the size of a large Emperor Bulblax. It lives only on the final floor of the Dark Desert Cave, the last accessible dungeon in the Desert Oasis. The arena is large and sandy. The creature will emerge when a pilot or Pikmin touches the obelisk buried in the sand.
Because it has such a large striking appendage, it is unwieldy when attempting to eat Pikmin and is unable to do so. Instead, the obelisk seeks out larger prey which it can easily strike down with long-range attacks. Instead of eating Pikmin it smashes its appendage into the midst of your forces causing a deadly explosion that can decimate all your Pikmin at once. The backside is shielded by the obelisk, so you have to attack the facial area. This is easier than it sounds- just get up close and throw your Pikmin at the face. You'll be so close that its long-range explosive attack will be ineffective. Here's the catch: to shake off Pikmin nearby it will bend upwards and then slam down, attempting to crush Pikmin beneath it. Also, when only a small amount of its energy is left, it will spin away through the sand when you get close so it can attack from a different angle. You'll have to be much faster then, and ultra-spicy spray helps a lot because it gives speed to your Pikmin. Keep this up and you'll defeat the obelisk.
