Plot: In Pikmin: Before Olimar, (this takes place some time in the timeline.) when Olimar comes home, he goes STRAIGHT to bed. He's very exhausted. While sleeping, Olimar dreams about life on the Pikmin planet he came. The player then controls a pikmin, controlling other pikmin to kill a Red Bulborb. Olimar then dreams about the pikmin discovering new lifeforms on the planet (new pikmin and enemies). The player must find all of the new to save them from going extinct, while avoiding enemies.
Controls[]
This game is for the Nintendo Wii. Your able to use either the Nintendo GameCube controller or the Wii remote with motion plus and nunchuk. The gamecube controls are the same, and the Wii remote controls are almost the same as New Play Control! version. Now, buttons 1 and 2 on the Wii remote makes the player change to different color pikmin.
Enemies, levels, and pikmin[]
The game will have all previous enemies, levels and pikmin, and lots of new stuff. New pikmin include the following: Brown Pikmin, Green Pikmin, and Pink Pikmin. These new pikmin can only be made by treasures. Brown pikmin can kill enemys from the inside(while getting out one'c the enemy is defeated) and can turn into other pikmin when it is thrown close to them. Enemys don't like eating this kind of pikmin, but will still eat it(unless a tasty blue pikmin is next to it, it will eat the blue pikmin instead) The Brown pikmin can also see Colorless Bulbear(s) coming at them. Green pikmin can blend in with the environment, but run very slow since it is admiring it's surroundings(including enemys). Its attacks do very minimal damage, but since enemys cannot see it, it will not eat it. Finally, Pink Pikmin can fly, doing as much damage to an enemy as a purple. Only downfall is that it carries things to their onion the slowest(purple pikmin being the second slowest). New enemys include: TheBlack Bulberry, theColorless Bulbear, and the Flying Red Bulborb. The Black Bulberry can only eat purple pikmin, though it could squash other color pikmin. The Colorless Bulbear is invisible, making it so only brown pikmin can see it. It will eat anything. Finally, the Flying Red Bulborb can fly very fast, making it hard to kill. It though will only eat Pink pikmin. There are no new levels, since the previous games have already shown the whole planet(which are levels).
Treasures[]
Treasures can make Brown Pikmin, Green Pikmin, and Pink pikmin if it is brought to their color Onion. Treasures appear more often than in Pikmin 2, which makes getting new pikmin easier. The new treasures are:
- Raspberry = 4 Pink Pikmin, 3 Green & Brown Pikmin
- Pencil = 7 Brown Pikmin, 5 Pink Pikmin, 2 Green Pikmin
- Pen = 6 Green pikmin, 3 Green & Brown Pikmin
- Pikmin stuffed animal = 9 Green, brown, and pink Pikmin
- Banana = 4 Green, brown, and pink Pikmin
